When I made the macramé trivet pattern, I wanted to use chain edges. So I used English Slip stitch selvedge, which creates a beautiful twisted chain along the edge. I thought you might enjoy the tutorial on how to knit the neat edges using English Chain Selvedge.

How to Knit English Slip Stitch Selvedge?

Following is a brief direction with some pictures.

On the right side

1: Slip the 1st and Last sts knitwise (work on the pattern in between those two stitches).

On the wrong side

2. Purl 1st and last stitches (work on the pattern in between those two stitches).
