Mother’s Day is right on the corner! Are you still looking for a gift for a mother who is a knitter? Then I just made your life much easier! check out this list of Mother’s Day Gift Ideas for knitters.
I have listed TOP 7 mother’s day gift ideas so you don’t have to spend hours looking for a gift online.
1. Yarn Bowl
This is a must-have for all the knitters. When we are knitting, yarn ball tends to roll away and correct dust and hair Especially if you have a pet in your house. The bowl will allow the yarn to stay in one spot and keep it clean.
I personally like ceramic, which you can purchase a handcrafted bowl on Etsy. The mud place on Etsy has a nice bowl with letters on it like “Mom”, “Grandma”, “Nana”…etc.
I also love natural-looking ceramic yarn bowls from Robin Badger Pottery.
I also like a wooden bowl which is less likely to break. The bowl from Knitpick is available with fast shipping on Amazon.
2. Knitting Bag
If you have a serious knitter, she will likely carry her knitting project(s) wherever she goes.
A big bag like Yarn Boss is great for those who tend to have multiple WIP projects. The little holes prevent the yarn to get tangled and keep it in place.
I also love a little pouch from Luxja to carry one small project in my purse. The side pockets also allow us to bring small knitting tools.
The leather knitting bag from Furls is absolutely beautiful. It doesn’t even look like a knitting bag. It can be used daily and when she needs to carry her knitting project, she can fit them all organized.
3. Yarn Swift and Yarn Winder
When we purchase yarn, sometimes it comes in a hank, which means the yarn is wound into a large loop and then twisted for easier packaging and shipping. When we get a hank of yarn, we have to open it up and wind the yarn into a ball before starting a project. Otherwise, it will become a huge tangled mess. Knitting swift is to keep the yarn in place and spin. so it is easier to wind the yarn. And a yarn winder is to make the ball of yarn in a very quick neat way.
The swifter that I am using in the video is made by Amish so I don’t have a link. But I would recommend a swifter like the one from Knitpick anyways since it is easier to adjust the width
. Having one of these is great, but having a set is totally life-changing for a knitter. Knitpick offers a nice set that includes a yarn bowl. You might want to check it out.
4. Chart Keeper
I do most of my work using an app. But sometimes, I prefer a paper chart. The chart keeper from Knitpick is like a binder, so we can keep the printed chart flat and straight. The best part is that this binder comes with magnetic stripes, which will help knitters to keep track of their work. It is perfect for those who don’t like to read patterns using devices.
5. Scissors
Not a typo! I meant it! A pair of cute scissors lol We can certainly use a regular pair of scissors from the junk drawer. But who doesn’t like a cute little pair of scissors!? Moms tend to omit things that are not necessary. So why not gift her something just because it is pretty? Primitive Original on Etsy has scissors that come with a case. You can also personalize the engravings too
6. Stitch Markers
If you are on a tight budget, a stitch marker is something low-cost, useful, and pretty item to gift. Go to Etsy and search for “Stitch markers”, and you will find different varieties. Thread Lightly HK on Etsy carries so many different charms. These are just a few examples. I bet you can find the perfect design(s) for her.
7. Knitting Kit and Subscriptions
I must say, all the knitters LOVE to receive a knitting kit! It is absolutely fun to get!
We don’t have to spend time searching for a project, patterns, and yarn to fit into the budget. Everything is right in the box and as soon as we open the box, we can start knitting. We are knitters offers so many knitting kits.
If you would like to go with a subscription to keep gifting every month forward, Annie’s Kit Club or Knit Crate offers many options.
